UNITED STATES OF AMERICA v. ROBERT LYLE BUCKHANNON and KELLY JANE DEMOSS

A criminal case management order issued yesterday, September 24, by United States District Judge Janet T. Neff has set November 27, 2018 as the trial's start date.

A final pretrial conference is scheduled for November 19, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in U. S. District Court in Grand Rapids, with both defendants required to appear.

All pretrial motions shall be filed no later than October 12, 2018.

All motions in limine shall be filed no later than October 29, 2018. (A motion in limine is a motion filed by a party to a lawsuit which asks the court for an order or ruling limiting or preventing certain evidence from being presented by the other side at the trial of the case.)

By November 14, 2018, both sides are required to file trial briefs; a joint statement of the case and statement of the elements of the charged offenses; and proposed voir dire questions.

If either Buckhannon or DeMoss opt to plead guilty, their respective plea agreements are due by November 14, 2018.
