GRAND TRAVERSE ACADEMY/COMSTOCK CONSTRUCTION SETTLEMENT REACHED: HERE IS THE ORDER TO DISMISS, BUT HOW MUCH DID IT COST MICHIGAN TAXPAYERS?

THIS IS REAL MONEY, AND IT IS TAXPAYER MONEY!

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT REQUEST SUBMITTED TO GRAND TRAVERSE ACADEMY TODAY; RESPONSE PENDING

 “STIPULATION AND ORDER TO DISMISS”

There are appropriate times for non-disclosure agreements to be used by publicly-funded entities, particularly in situations where personal information could be included. Cases involving students, who are covered under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, could also require non-disclosures.

But not in this case.

This afternoon, I sent a Freedom of Information Act request to the Grand Traverse Academy, requesting full details on how our money (yours and mine) was spent to settle a contract dispute filed on October 25, 2017 by Comstock Construction against the Academy; Full Spectrum Management, LLC; MDN Development, LLC; and Mark Noss.

Tick tock, tick tock!

    1. Maybe not a "secret" now, but it was until Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 2:51:49 PM when the GTA board posted the video on YouTube.
