BOOKING.WOW!: Ingersoll Traverse City Home (AKA "Carlisle House") Booked Solid For 5 Weeks During Peak Summer Season; Will Steve Ingersoll Finally Pay Off His $7,509.45 Federal Income Tax Lien?

Steve and Deborah Ingersoll's decision to convert their Carlisle Farms Drive residence in Traverse City into a summer rental appears to have paid off—but will Steve Ingersoll use that money to pay Uncle Sam back the $7,509.45 federal income tax on money earned last year by the "charter cheater's" Smart Schools Management of Bay City?

Based on an average peak-season weekly rental of $6,300, the Ingersolls could net roughly $25,000 from the purported bookings shown on the home's VRBO listing—more than enough to pay off that pesky 2014 IRS federal tax lien and still have enough left over to pay attorney fees!

But you can kiss that primary residence property tax break goodbye!

Come to think of it, that may not be the only thing Ingersoll will soon be "kissing goodbye".

    1. Possible, but unlikely.

      With the July 24 motion hearing (defense request for a judgment of acquittal/new trial and the government's request for restraining order) looming, it's counterintuitive to expect the Ingersolls to spend the month lounging poolside instead of grubbing for every dollar they can gather in their filthy meat hooks.

      But I could be wrong...nah!

You just wonder how much equity they have in their Traverse City house and scratch your head thinking "Only $7,509 for an IRS lien when they owe approximately $2.7 million with back taxes and penalties? And you wonder, too, since the house is a trust in her name? Would the feds go after he assets since it's supposedly him that was found guilty and owes the back taxes?

    4. The "$7,509 for an IRS lien" is solely for tax year 2014 resulting from Steven Ingersoll's earnings from Smart Schools Management of Bay City. Secondly, the roughly $2.7 million dollar judgment has not been officially made, as it will be handed down when Steven Ingersoll is sentenced. It's likely that although the Carlisle Farms house is officially owned by the "Deborah Ingersoll Trust", Steven Ingersoll may be one of the trustees. The feds will move to seize Ingersoll's assets for liquidation sale after he's formally sentenced.

      So, now you know the reason for all that "new trial" foot dragging!

    5. Thank you, Miss Fortune! Can't wait for the $2.7 million dollar judgement to be made in September. And meanwhile, just think how much more money the Ingersolls are spending on their attorneys! And let's not forget how much will be owed to the State and how big the trial investigation costs that will be passed on to them will be! Who knows how much (or should we say how 'little') will be left?

    6. The Ingersolls must have graduate degrees in 'How to Foot Drag as Long as Possible". Wonder if they took that graduate-level course when they took "Cooking the Books"?

  3. He is probably booking it as a teacher workshop and paying himself back with state monies. Creative accounting Steve, always workin' every angle. Conferences can be mighty expensive, especially with those accommodations. Or maybe it is pay back month to all those people that keep his dirty secrets. It wouldn't be hard to come up with a list of the people that would be there. Or maybe he is setting up a conference with all his cronies to come up with a new scheme to take more money from the feds and tax payers. Hmm I wonder.

    1. It's definitely not a teacher workshop. He does not care about the teachers that work at his "former" schools. He would not host anything at his home for them.
