PROPERTY TAX FORFEITURE FORECLOSURE LOOMS FOR MARK NOSS: Noss And Wife, Patricia, Owe Nearly $28,000 In Delinquent Property Taxes On Full Spectrum Eyecare Building In Traverse City; 2018 Property Taxes Remain Unpaid

How ironic: a guy who lived large for years, pulling in millions in charter school management fees from Michigan taxpayers during his tenure at the Grand Traverse Academy, sure doesn't like to return the favor.

A formal property tax forfeiture document, filed March 23, 2020 by the Grand Traverse County Treasurer's office, reveals Mark Noss and wife Patricia owe $27,334.19 in delinquent 2018 property taxes on a building they own at 328 Munson Avenue in Traverse City.

The building houses Full Spectrum Eyecare and Excel Management, two of the closely-held Michigan business entities Noss controls.

Real property tax delinquency entails a three-year forfeiture and foreclosure process in Michigan. 

Parcels are forfeited to the county treasurers when the real property taxes are in the second year of delinquency. 

Real property taxes which remain unpaid as of March 31 in the third year of delinquency are foreclosed upon by the Foreclosing Governmental Unit (FGU). The FGU is responsible for inspecting forfeited property, providing due process notifications and subsequent disposition of the tax foreclosed property.

Makes me wonder if the Nosses are using the 1/2 percent a month additional interest charged by Grand Traverse County as a cost of doing business: they managed to pay off the $85,000 mortgage on a Grayling building they co-own in late December 2018.

My mother always told me I should pay my bills...because one day I'd be too old to become a prostitute. 


  1. Maybe Noss should ask Ingersoll to loan him the money to pay this bill? After all, Noss paid Ingersoll such a handsome amount for his intellectual property, IVL, during his friend's trial? Makes you wonder how often, if any, they communicate with each other these days? And what's being said if and when they do?

  2. 2 people out of podunk Alma, Mi., with regular-paid fathers and housewife mothers, leapfrog into buying a practice right out of CMU, investing in equipment and re-decorating to set up on Front Street in TC, buying 2 homes in The Bluffs, buying a practice and a whole building (and more investing in equipment) in Grayling, Mi., then getting their own custom-built locale on Munson, custom-tailored and monogrammed clothing (the tailor would go to the office!), going on Carribean vacations and securing prime seats at the US Open, etc. etc.

    The clawing up was unforgiveably prodigious from the get-go: the bills he had during his first 2 years of his shiney new practice far outstripped their single income - and neither ever stopped to look at their spending habits ... never, ever.

    Sad ending to what probably were a young couple's dreams back in the day.

    1. It seems money and image were their real gods. And they both failed.

  3. Well I'm sure they've been talkin right along Ingersoll has got a way of using attorneys using people playing everybody they think they are smarter than everybody.
    It's the public humiliation everybody knows how they got the nice houses the cars their wives shopping.
    That is it's worth in gold!
