One of the paintings Damante claimed ownership of was Crack Apple Night which, at the time of the story, was available for sale online (at $18,000,000) at Art Encounter of Las Vegas, Nevada.
My June 29 piece included the following image, taken as a screen grab from Art Encounter's website on June 26.
Since then, things have changed: while the painting still appears on Art Encounter's site, it's no longer for sale at $18,000,000 and may no longer be on the market at all.
The previous listing has been updated, and the price (and handy, dandy shopping cart--which allowed 10 paintings to be added to the Shopping Cart when I tried the quantity drop-down) has been wiped away.
Now, interested art market arrivistes will have to call a Mr. Rod Maly for more information.
