THE SUMMER OF STEVE: Ingersoll Sentencing Hearing Delayed Until Late September; Final "Summer of Steve"?

BREAKING NEWS! Ingersoll Sentencing Delayed; Now Set For September 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

An order issued just moments ago by U. S. District Judge Thomas L. Ludington granted a motion hearing delay to Steven Ingersoll and partner in crime Roy Bradley. In addition, the order pushes back the duo's sentencing on federal fraud charges from June 16 to September 24 at 2:00pm.

Some background: on March 24, Ingersoll and Bradley jointly filed  a motion for judgment of acquittal. In addition to requesting a judgment of acquittal, the motion requested additional time to file supplemental briefing, stating that certain trial transcripts had not yet been completed.

On April 13, government prosecutors filed a motion to hold briefing in abeyance and to adjourn the motion hearing based on Ingersoll and Bradley's (I'll just call them "IngerBrad"!) intent to file supplemental briefing. In its motion, the government explained that holding briefing in abeyance pending completion of the trial transcripts would conserve resources because the parties would not need to file multiple rounds of briefing.

Ludington's order directed IngerBrad to file their (its?) supplemental briefing within fourteen days after the requested trial
transcripts are completed and filed on the docket.

In addition, the government’s motion to hold in abeyance was granted, and a response is expected after IngerBrad file their (its?) supplemental briefing.

It looks like Ingersoll, whose criminal defense attorney Martin E. Crandall had the stones to claim the convicted felon can no longer maintain his multiple Bay City properties "due to his now-limited ability to earn a living following the prosecution and conviction, still has plenty of dough available to pay that $600.00 an hour mouthpiece!

Do you suppose Ingersoll's cash is stuffed in a mattress, hidden under a floorboard in the Perry House...or just locked in a safe next to his duplicate U. S. Passport?

The hearing for IngerBrad's motion for a judgment of acquittal and the government's motion for a restraining order are now set for July 23 at 4:00pm.

And IngerBrad's sentencing has been rescheduled from June 16 to September 24, with Steven Ingersoll set to go in front of Judge Ludington at 2:00pm, followed by Roy Bradley at 2:30pm.

Is it too late for Miss Fortune to apply for the popcorn concession in front of the courthouse?

  1. Bummer. Now we have to wait until September 24! Who knows how many more properties he is going to Quit Claim Deed to 'friends' and 'others' in the meantime.
And it sure wouldn't surprize anyone that Ingersoll would maybe have a duplicate passport.

  2. Why can't they sit in jail until the sentencing? It would hurry things along.

  3. Ingersoll has longer to dispose "traceable" assets and get ready to bail. Does anyone expect him to actually enter a prison?

  4. Just like we were waiting for what seemed like forever with his trial being postponed three times, we believe he will have a sentencing, even though we now have to wait so much longer. We do expect him to enter prison, but not soon enough!

    1. I expect he will be sentenced to 10 - 15 years. I suspect he will run to a warm climate. He has had years to prepare. Assets being signed over to friends for later disposal. Attorney just got him more time to wiggle as much cash as possible. Next he will be offering to do his "time" where he can do some public good. After all - hasn't every tax payer in Michigan felt special having Ingersoll steal resources for his personal benefit?

    2. Maybe he wants to improve his earning potential behind bars by doing his job from his degree in prison? He can be a prison Dr. He could do some public good behind bars where he can keep his hands out of the cookie jar.

    3. Wouldn't that be great!? 'Dr.' Ingersoll working in prison by using his optometry degree! He could give eye exams and prescriptions for new glasses for his fellow inmates. He does have credentials for that (unless he needs recertification to keep up his credentials, but that shouldn't be too much trouble. And while he's at it, he could also have classes with his fellow inmates using his IVL theory and help them improve their educational skills and character too. Afterall, he has stated that his IVL theory also teaches character and that ALL students can learn like gifted learners, that is visually? I guess then that his new students in prison can learn how to be even more corrupt and more skilled at how to really go to town when/if they get out? :-) What do you think?

    4. Since prisoners get such great medical care he might not be eligible to provide it. His classes would struggle with meeting federal education standards? It would be nice just to have him sentenced. Gone.

  5. I love the Stevie pictures. Good for a chuckle to see the pompous convict in a diaper.

  6. Is his "limited" ability to earn a living because he has not been able to pursue a new fraud while he was wasting valuable time in the federal court room? He has been to busy dropping property at 1% of the value?

  7. Unfortunately, Ingersoll's shenanigans have 'no limit'...The Ingersoll case is one for the history books on fraud, charter schools and a multi-millionaire who got his millions by deception and thievery.

  8. With his "limited" ability to commit additional fraud (hence limited income) - who will pay for Stevie and Debbie to play golf this summer? Do you think they are going to show up all over and pretend their presence is wanted? Will Gent continue to claim he is supporting his "client" or co-conspirator? Will theywalk around the front porch projects and accept the failure was Stevie corruption and criminal activity? Will they continue to blame others for getting caught? Will the acceptance of responsibility become reality? These two should pack it up. How many broke people to you know that has a multitude of homes? Limited income? Really?

  9. Has there been any information on Stevie's net worth? With his "limited" potential for income how is he ever going to find the money to pay his taxes? Since he did not pay his debt to the school does he not have all that money for taxes? His income? Shouldn't he spend his free time scrambling to pay his debts? Get a job? Go to work? Won't the construction loan (future tax payer debt) be almost enough to pay his judgement?

  10. You really do wonder what is the Ingersolls net worth after you factor in the amount of mortgages they still owe. I wonder how much net worth they really have after you subtract their mortgages, taxes and penalties that they owe. You can bet your bottom dollar that their net worth won't be more than the approximately $2,700,000 they owe the government in penalties and underreporting their income. And that's not even touching the hundreds of thousands that they will owe the feds when you figure the cost of the trial.

    1. He has been doing this for years. With his shell game finances; he has the traceable money and the hidden money. His "federal" net worth reported will be a joke. I am curious about his true worth. If he was having all the financial issues claimed by the legal team; all of the properties would be on the market for sale for real value. Broke men do not hand valuable assets away.

    2. Do you think he will pay off the debt owed? Sell his houses? With reduced income how will he ever maintain them in prison?

    3. Ah, yes, but so-called "broke men" will sign over a property for a dollar to a recipient that...let's see--has something to hold over that man's broke-ass head!

The off-the-books supplemental pay for treasured Bay City Academy employees (and you know who you are!) is legendary, along with the fast-and-loose financial games he continues (yes, continues) to play with his GTA contacts.

If he has "financial issues" now, what explains the reason behind not paying taxes in 2012? 2013?

The lawyers figured out a way to squeeze blood from the stone.

      Come on, I'm listening!

    4. Any word on when the IRS is going after the next couple of years of tax fraud? Going after the school employees and Ingersoll workers for unreported pay and/or gifts? I would guess his claim would be attorney fees is taking his resources. Plus his secret money stash needs increasing. He did make some payment back to GTA or reduce his intake? He has not stolen 1.8 million from amy federal agency this year - so he probably feeling a little pinch.

    5. Do share the secrets. It might allow the feds to have some assets to seize. The government should go beck and seize all assets and reverse the property transfers - this case will be going on for years. Ingersoll was an idiot to bring it to Bay City with the strong union ties. He got greedy wanting to double his racket.

  11. It seems like this has been going on forever.
