Hunter, who plead guilty in 2013 to two felony of conversion by false pretenses, was released from prison June 16, 2015 after serving a total of 23 months, including credit for time served in the Cook County, IL and Grand Traverse County jails.
According to the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) records, Hunter was arrested in Oakland County on or about August 28, 2016 and housed temporarily in the Oakland County jail.
Hunter was transferred back to the custody of the Michigan Department of Corrections within days, and is currently being held at the Detroit Reentry Center, located on the city's east side.
Although details about Hunter's case are scant, his official MDOC record has been updated to include his current incarceration and three aliases (David Lee Hunter, Jr., David Kenwabikise and Jesse David Hunter).
A Freedom of Information Act request has been submitted to MDOC to determine available details in advance of Hunter's October 11 hearing; stay tuned for more.
