Just when you thought these petty criminals, who couldn't run a whorehouse during a gold rush, were done, they surprise you.
While polishing up my DBA/LLP/LLC research, I discovered a truly awesome (and strange) story: Roy Bradley's wife is apparently a part-time preacher.
Or maybe not!
Back on November 16, 2010, Tammy Bradley filed for an assumed name in Bay County under the moniker "Founders Christian Church".
Sharp-eyed readers will note that the so-called church's address (400 N. Madison Avenue) is the location of the Bay City Academy building, purchased on April 9, 2010 by Steven Ingersoll.
Less than two weeks after forming the "church", another Bradley DBA. Thunder Cycle, announced a holiday fundraising drive in the Bay City Times:
BAY CITY — Thunder Cycle and Founders Christian Church of Bay City are partnering to make this holiday season better for children. Through Dec. 18, the two are sponsoring the "'Tis the Season Gift Drive." New, unwrapped gifts, gift cards or cash donations are accepted to help local children have a better Christmas. Donations can be dropped off at Thunder Cycle, 510 Columbus Ave., and Founders Christian Church, 400 N. Madison St.
Gifts will be handed out to children on Sunday, Dec. 19, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the church.
A Christmas party for adults is Saturday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. at Thunder Cycle.
Notice that phrase: "new, unwrapped gifts, gift cards or cash donations". Unlike checks, cash and gift cards are impossible to trace, especially when you're not really a church or a charity.
Wonder where the money went?
