RHESUS PIECES: Federally Indicted (And Unlicensed) Crooked Chiropractor Robert Buckhannon Monkeys Around In Las Vegas

Although his license to practice in Nevada expired over four years ago and his federal bond restrictions limit his travel to ramblings solely within Clark County, somebody out there is really trying to make Battle Creek's "crooked chiropractor" Robert Buckhannon look legit in Las Vegas!

Buckhannon, currently under federal indictment for one count each of conspiracy and fraud for his role in a $34 million dollar scheme to defraud hedge fund investors, recently launched a reputation management campaign that included a new website: robertbuckhannon.com. Just recently, a Yelp page offering Buckhannon's unlicensed services as a Las Vegas chiropractor hit the interwebs.

Like his new website, Buckhannon's Yelp page, located at this link, features the grinning visage of Kelly DeMoss.

Reportedly Buckhannon's fiancĂ© (rhymes with Beyonce), DeMoss and the crooked chiropractor co-owned Battle Creek's torched On Deck Sports Bar & Grill.  The local hot spot was destroyed by a suspicious fire December 30, 2013.

An investigation of the fire's cause by the Battle Creek Police and the ATF continues.

According to Buckhannon's indictment, unsealed on October 1, 2014, from April 2008 through April 2010, Buckhannon (along with co-defendant Terry Rawstern and some other co-conspirators) managed members of two Bradenton, Florida-based hedge funds, Arcanum Equity Fund, LLC and Vestium Equity Fund, LLC.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) asserts the defendants engaged in a fraudulent scheme to misappropriate $34 million they raised from investors by misrepresenting how they would use the investors' funds, along with misrepresenting that there were safeguards over the investors' money, such as an independent trustee and independent fund administrator.

The DOJ said the defendants then looted and bankrupted the hedge funds by taking payments on false and fictitious profits, while taking improper and undisclosed loans. The indictment stated that as a result of the defendants' conduct, investors lost approximately $13.1 million.

In April 2010, the hedge funds voluntarily filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and are now under the control of court-appointed trustees.

Buckhannon, according to his Yelp business description, is “currently servicing the Las Vegas, NV and Battle Creek, MI areas”.
