Per Wickstrom’s ‘A Forever Recovery’ was named a defendant in a medical malpractice suit filed March 15, 2013 in Calhoun County’s 37th Circuit Court. In addition to Wickstom, and AFR’s Medical Director, Stephen Robinson, M. D., official court papers named the following additional defendants: Anthony Janas, M. D., Seth Egelston, D. O., Joel Goldberg, M. D., William H. Blakeslee, P. A., Historic Family Physicians, PLC, and Historic Northside Family Practice.

Attorneys for the plaintiffs, Clinton Ray Richmond and Colleen Richmond, are Jeffrey T. Meyers and Justin J. Hakala. Meyers' and Hakala's law firm, Morgan & Meyers PLC, is based in Dearborn, MI.

The suit alleges that Clinton Ray Richmond suffered injuries at the hands of the defendants that required an emergency admission to Oakwood Annapolis Hospital, where Richmond underwent a craniotomy.

A craniotomy is a surgical operation in which a bone flap is temporarily removed from the skull to access the brain. Craniotomies are often a critical operation performed on patients suffering from brain lesions or traumatic brain injury.
