UPDATE: Hunter Civil Fraud Suit Moves Forward; David Lee Hunter, Mother Kathleen Hunter, Sued For Non-Payment Of Loan

The civil fraud case against convicted felon David Lee Hunter, shown at left in his 2013 Cook County Jail mugshot, and his mother, Kathleen, appears to have cleared a procedural hurdle in its quest for justice.

As I exclusively reported on July 17, 2017, a civil fraud suit, was filed on May 22, 2017 in Grand Traverse County’s 86th District Court against Hunter and his mother, Kathleen, alleged Breach of Contract, Conversion, Fraudulent Misrepresentation and Innocent Misrepresentation relating to an unpaid loan. The loan amount was unspecified, but the official complaint stated an amount ranging from $10,000 to $25,000.

Yesterday, July 24, 2017, proof of service was filed by the plaintiff's attorney relating to a legal notice that appeared for three consecutive weeks in The Ann Arbor News and a service by mail.

As a result, the case cannot be dismissed for "no progress" until October 20, 2017.
