CHARLEVOIX SHADY, DAVID LEE HUNTER, BACK IN TROUBLE...AGAIN! HUNTER'S CHARTER SCHOOL MANAGER MOM BUSTED FOR SHOPLIFTING; TAKES A DEAL!

UNPAID LOAN RANGING FROM $10,000 to $25,000!

One month ago, on June 17, 2017, I posted a story about David Lee Hunter and his discharge from supervision.

Although I privately suspected Hunter would eventually become involved in another financial transaction that skirted the limits of legality, I thought it would take at least...oh, 90 days.

Turns out it didn't even take one month!

On June 29, 2017, a public notice was filed in The Ann Arbor news (left) by the plaintiff in a civil suit filed in Grand Traverse County's 86th District Court on May 22, 2017.

The case, filed against Hunter and his mother, Kathleen, alleged Breach of Contract, Conversion, Fraudulent Misrepresentation and Innocent Misrepresentation relating to an unpaid loan. The amount was unspecified, but original complaint states an amount ranging from $10,000 to $25,000.

David Hunter has until August 10, 2017 to respond to notification before a default judgment is filed.

Hunter's mother, Kathleen, whose Charlevoix Educational Management, LLC runs the Charlevoix Montessori Academy for the Arts charter school, plead guilty on November 1, 2016, to one count of attempted retail fraud-3rd degree in return for Grand Traverse County prosecutors dismissing a more serious count of retail fraud-3rd degree.

Kathleen Hunter avoided jail, and was fined a total of $675.00, which included a $30.00 restitution payment, and was sentenced to a six-month probation term.
